Job summary

Carnegie Robotics seeks a Lead ISO 9001 Internal Auditor to own and drive our internal audit program on a part-time basis (~8 hours per week). You will plan, execute, and oversee audits, evaluate processes against ISO 9001, and guide CAPA and NCRs with independence and rigor.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of audit experience, holds an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credential, and can communicate findings clearly to process owners and executives while supporting registrar audits.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of direct experience leading ISO 9001 internal or external quality assurance audits.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification (IRCA, Exemplar Global, or equivalent required)
• Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related technical field
• Independent design and management of end-to-end ISO 9001 QMS audit program with complete autonomy
• Mastery of ISO 9001 requirements, Annex SL structure, and process-approach auditing methodologies
• Non-conformance tracking, root cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone), CAPA verification
• Ability to operate independently, with an 8-hour weekly time commitment
• Strong written and presentation skills to communicate audit findings

Responsibilities

• Design, establish, and execute the annual internal audit schedule covering ISO 9001 clauses and operational processes.
• Focus weekly hours on targeted, risk-based internal audits across departmental workflows and SOPs.
• Prepare audit plans, checklists, working papers, and NCRs.
• Evaluate processes against ISO 9001 requirements, risk-based thinking, Context of the Organization, and leadership engagement.
• Review root cause analyses and CAPA plans for adequacy and effectiveness.
• Track, verify, and close corrective action plans prior to external registrar audits.
• Perform periodic risk-focused quality audits of key suppliers and subcontractors as needed.
• Compile audit trend reports and QMS metrics for management review and registrars] ,
