Job summary

Jhpiego is seeking a Senior Technical Advisor to lead compliance for research and program learning, reviewing HSR/NRD submissions and guiding teams on design and conduct to ensure rigorous data management and compliant closeout. The role partners with IRBhelp to ensure timely feedback.

This casual/on-call position supports data management, closeout oversight, and coordination with IRBHelp for defensible determinations and timely reviews.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of US IRB exemption categories (45 CFR 46) and ability to advise on determinations.
• Experience in regulatory and ethical review of research protocols and advising on non-research determinations.
• Experience with data management planning in compliance with donor and national policies.

Responsibilities

• Review HSR and NRD submissions with timely feedback and defensible determinations.
• Provide concrete feedback to project teams to improve submission quality.
• Develop data management plans aligned with Jhpiego/JHU and national guidelines.
• Support data compliance during project closeout and proper data handling.
