Job summary

By Light Professional IT Services LLC in Fort Meade, MD, seeks an IP Network Engineer to assess, test, and optimize the DISN IP backbone, covering MPLS, VPNs and security services onsite at Fort Meade.

The role requires extensive DoD routing experience and certifications (CCNP/JNCIP), with DoD 8570 IAT Level I+ clearance. You will lead design reviews, lab tests, and deployment planning, while providing Tier III support and field guidance.

Qualifications

• BS in Networking, Telecommunications, or related area.
• DoD 8570-01-M IAT Level I or higher required.
• Extensive IP networking experience with backbone routers and devices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in design review, lab testing and deployment plans for large DoD networks.
• Implement MPLS services including L3VPN, L2VPN, VPLS in the DISN network.
• Provide security design, testing and deployment guidance for NIPRNET/SIPRNET architectures.
• Conduct audits, risk analysis, threat assessments, and implement security controls.
• Deliver router/firewall test plans and implementation guides for production deployment.
• Provide Tier III engineering support and field lessons learned reports.
• Conduct market research to identify products meeting requirements.
