Job summary

Nokia is seeking an experienced IP Resident Engineer to serve as an on-site liaison in Bellevue, WA, handling complex installations and high-visibility customer support. The role spans design, migration planning, testing, and service design with opportunities for remote customer work as needed.

The candidate will drive network architecture, perform configurations, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure performance, security, and reliability while maintaining strong client relationships

Qualifications

• Four years degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication or equivalent experience.
• Nokia NRSII certification is required.
• Nokia SRA, Cisco CCIE and/or Juniper JNCIE or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7+ years relevant work experience with a telecom communications equipment vendor or service provider in designing, configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting IP networks.
• 5+ years experience in IP routing protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP) and 5+ years in Segment Routing (SR) and MPLS using LDP/RSVP, and L2/L3 VPNs over MPLS/SR.
• 5+ years experience in QoS implementation/testing; 5+ years experience using Spirent, IXIA, Iperf, JDSU.
• 3+ years of scripting (Python, C, Bash, Shell, XML).
• Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills to end-clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop network architecture and services designs to support customer services.
• Produce network implementation and migration plans; configure equipment and services.
• Test and support networks; audit and assess against requirements; formulate management strategies.
• Produce and review technical statements of work; provide training materials.
• Evaluate networks for performance, scalability, security; recommend optimizations.
• Collaborate with internal teams for product placement and feature improvements.
• Work with customers to conduct network readiness tests and build strong relationships.
• Occasional maintenance hours to support critical network events.
