Aeluma, Inc. is seeking an IP Manager to expand and manage its IP portfolio and oversee the technical IP workflow. This role reports to the Senior Director of Engineering and supports engineering teams to generate and protect IP.

Responsibilities include owning patent content for USPTO and international actions, guiding outside counsel, and coordinating with internal teams for idea harvesting and disclosures. CA-based position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• 5+ years of compound semiconductor photonics research or manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years of patent writing experience.
• Deep familiarity with semiconductor device design, manufacturing, packaging, and integration.
• Expertise with claim structuring and patentability assessment.
• Excellent technical writing and figure generating skills.

Responsabilités

• Own technical content of all patent applications and responses to USPTO and foreign actions.
• Curate IP portfolio and drive expansion to meet commercial targets and objectives.
• Direct and manage outside agents and counsel on IP-related matters.
• Engage internal teams for idea harvesting and facilitate internal disclosure processes.
