Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a Sr. Hardware Engineer to lead hardware development for connected security products. You will define interfaces, drive validation, and mentor engineers across firmware and hardware teams.

Responsibilities include conducting design reviews, prototyping, and coordinating with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure reliable, compliant hardware. This role requires hands-on embodiment of DFM/DFA, RF debugging, and multi-layer PCB know-how.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar.
• 6+ years of progressive hardware or product engineering experience required.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, prototyping, and design verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware project execution for assigned products or subsystems.
• Define system interfaces, component strategy, and validation plans.
• Mentor hardware engineers and provide technical guidance on design quality.
• Drive debugging and root-cause analysis across electro-mechanical systems.
• Lead design reviews for schematics, layouts, drawings, BOMs, tooling, and test results.
• Manage prototype builds, pilot runs, and release documentation.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Ensure hardware quality, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance readiness.
