Job summary

ESPN is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Apple ecosystem to design and build a feature-rich media playback library across Disney's direct-to-consumer brands. You will collaborate with PMs, designers, and engineers to deliver a consistent streaming platform across Disney experiences.

You will work in Objective-C/Swift, focusing on UIKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, and StoreKit to create a world‑class playback experience while partnering with teams across Disney’s media services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of iOS development experience with Swift.
• 5+ years building UIs with UIKit or SwiftUI.
• 3+ years in agile processes to help the team be effective.
• Experience across full software lifecycle: ideation to end-of-life.
• Knowledge of MVC or MVVM design patterns.
• Proficiency in Object Oriented and Reactive programming.
• Experience with unit testing and CI systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features integrating with Disney media services and back‑ends.
• Collaborate on API design with front‑end teams and services teams.
• Research and develop media playback experiences, integration, and testing.
• Participate in project estimation and resource planning.
• Collaborate in a small, productive team and with the larger engineering org.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across platforms.
• Specialize in Apple technologies (UIKit, SwiftUI, AVKit, StoreKit) to build top‑tier apps.
