Job description

Mindgrub Technologies is a digital agency specializing in digital transformation for established enterprises and growth-stage companies. We build complex, deeply integrated applications that power critical experiences for enterprises and startups alike. Our engineering teams work across web, mobile, and cloud platforms, delivering solutions that range from multi-million dollar platform modernizations to fast-moving, high-impact digital builds.

Position Overview

Senior Software Engineers collaborate with technical leaders, project teams, and clients to deliver robust software solutions for Mindgrub’s internal and external clients.

As a Senior iOS Software Engineer, you will serve as a senior contributor on mobile application projects, with primary responsibility for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and Apple’s modern development ecosystem. You will work with project and technical leads to derive requirements, make sound architectural and implementation decisions, estimate work, and successfully deliver technical solutions to our clients.

This role is primarily focused on iOS engineering but requires meaningful, recent hands-on Android development experience. The ideal candidate is an expert iOS engineer who has also actively worked with modern Android technologies, including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and can confidently contribute to Android applications when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-quality iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and modern Apple frameworks.
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor on mobile projects, helping guide implementation decisions, architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, QA engineers, and clients to translate product and business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute directly to Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android development practices when project needs require.
  • Work effectively across both iOS and Android codebases, including implementing features, resolving defects, reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, and supporting application releases.
  • Help teams establish consistent architecture, functionality, and user experiences across iOS and Android while respecting platform-specific conventions and capabilities.
  • Research and evaluate frameworks, libraries, platform capabilities, and related technologies that fulfill project requirements, improve application quality, and anticipate future client needs.
  • Participate in all aspects of engineering projects, including discovery, technical planning, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Produce task-level estimates of effort (LOEs) and contribute to technical planning and project estimates.
  • Be aware of project budgets and timelines and remain accountable for assigned project deliverables.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and provide thoughtful, actionable feedback to other engineers.
  • Collaborate with other team members by sharing experience and technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, development practices, application architecture, and team efficiency.
  • Ensure projects follow Mindgrub engineering standards and established development processes.
  • Interact with clients as needed to discuss technical requirements, provide project updates, explain technical decisions, and resolve issues.
  • Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in the interview and evaluation process for engineering candidates.
  • Maintain current expertise in evolving iOS and Android technologies, frameworks, development practices, and platform capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Remote; 9:00am - 5:00pm EST; 40 hrs / wk anticipated.
  • October 2026 through September 2027 with potential to extend.
  • 4+ years of professional iOS development experience, with significant recent experience building and maintaining production applications using Swift.
  • Recent, hands-on professional experience developing native applications for both iOS and Android. Candidates should be actively working with, or have worked with in recent years, the modern development ecosystems of both platforms.
  • Strong, current experience with Swift and SwiftUI, including building production user interfaces with SwiftUI and integrating with UIKit when appropriate.
  • Strong knowledge of the current iOS SDK, Xcode, application lifecycle, concurrency, networking, data persistence, debugging, performance optimization, automated testing, dependency management, and Apple code signing and distribution.
  • Hands-on professional Android development experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with recent experience building or contributing to production Android applications.
  • Working knowledge of the modern Android development ecosystem, including Android Studio, Jetpack libraries, Compose-based UI development, application architecture, coroutines, Gradle, networking, persistence, testing, and application publishing.
