About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior iOS Software Engineer for our client. In this role, you will be a senior technical contributor on mobile application projects, with a primary focus on designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and modern Apple frameworks. You will work closely with technical and project leads, engineers, designers, QA teams, and clients to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain production-quality iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and modern Apple frameworks.
• Serve as a senior technical contributor, helping guide architecture, implementation decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.
• Contribute directly to Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android development practices when required.
• Work across both iOS and Android codebases, implementing features, resolving defects, reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, and supporting releases.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, QA engineers, and clients to translate business and product requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Design and contribute to maintainable mobile application architectures while following platform-specific best practices.
• Research and evaluate frameworks, libraries, platform capabilities, and other technologies to improve application quality and meet project requirements.
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing application maintenance.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across mobile applications, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, development practices, architecture, and team efficiency.
• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
• Interact with clients as needed to discuss technical requirements, explain technical decisions, provide project updates, and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in technical interviews and candidate evaluations.
• Stay current with evolving iOS and Android technologies, frameworks, and development practices.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional iOS development experience, with significant recent experience building production applications using Swift.
• Strong, current experience with Swift and SwiftUI, including production UI development and integration with UIKit where appropriate.
• Recent, hands-on professional experience developing native applications for both iOS and Android.
• Hands-on Android development experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Strong knowledge of the modern iOS SDK, Xcode, application lifecycle, concurrency, networking, data persistence, debugging, performance optimization, automated testing, dependency management, and Apple code signing and distribution.
• Working knowledge of the modern Android ecosystem, including Android Studio, Jetpack libraries, Compose, application architecture, coroutines, Gradle, networking, persistence, testing, and application publishing.
• Ability to independently navigate, debug, and contribute meaningful production code to both iOS and Android codebases.
• Good understanding of declarative UI development, including the similarities and differences between SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience designing or contributing to scalable and maintainable mobile application architectures.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services and third-party SDKs.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and mobile application release processes.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Availability to work 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, approximately 40 hours per week.
• Ability to attend meetings digitally or in person when required.

Preferred Experience:

• Technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience shipping and maintaining production applications in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Previous experience as a technical lead or senior technical contributor on mobile application projects.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other mobile engineers.
• Experience working in a consulting, digital agency, or client-services environment.
• Familiarity with mobile CI/CD, automated build and release pipelines, analytics, crash reporting, and application monitoring.
• Experience with cross-platform mobile technologies while maintaining strong native iOS and Android expertise.
