Job summary

Gusto is seeking an accomplished Mobile iOS Engineer with 12+ years of mobile software experience to guide the iOS platform and scale shared services. You will work with Product, Identity, Security, System Design, and Infrastructure teams to deliver elegant, scalable apps that matter to small businesses and their employees.

You’ll collaborate across teams to prototype and launch solutions, driving best practices and maintaining build pipelines, testing automation, and release processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Swift and iOS software engineering.
• 12+ years of overall mobile software engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Mentor and lead junior engineers as needed.
• Proficiency with iOS testing frameworks and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, test, and refine Gusto’s iOS app and embedded mobile views.
• Utilize AI agents to deliver high-quality output quickly.
• Identify and advocate for best-practices, architecture and processes.
• Maintain and enhance iOS infrastructure, including pipelines, tests and releases.
• Build and scale foundational services like push, localization, and accessibility features.
• Develop features integrating core business tools and financial products.
• Collaborate with product, identity, security, design systems, and infra teams to address pain points and prototype solutions.
