Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior mobile/backend engineer in the United States (New Jersey) to design, develop, and maintain native iOS apps with Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit, while also building backend services in Java and Spring Boot. You will integrate RESTful APIs with microservices, participate in code reviews, and drive CI/CD initiatives.

The role emphasizes collaboration with product and design teams, ensuring security and performance, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of iOS development experience.
• Proficient in Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and Xcode.
• 7+ years of Java, Spring Boot, and microservices development.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Strong OO design and patterns.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development.
• Cloud knowledge (AWS/Azure/GCP) preferred.
• Kafka, event-driven architectures, and containers (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred.
• Mobile security, authentication, and authorization knowledge.
• DevOps, monitoring, and observability familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver complex software requirements to meet business goals.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain native iOS apps using Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with backend microservices.
• Develop and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
• Code solutions and unit test requirements according to acceptance and compliance criteria.
• Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, architects, and engineering teams.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues across mobile and backend platforms.
• Mentor junior software engineers and coach CI/CD practices and engineering best practices.
• Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and reliability.
