Hartford Funds is seeking a mid-level investment management attorney (5+ years) to join its Legal Department, which supports the Funds and Hartford Funds’ other business lines. The attorney will provide legal and regulatory guidance, coordinate Board meetings, and prepare Board materials for Directors and Trustees.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Pennsylvania bar membership or eligibility to be admitted as in-house counsel.
• 5+ years of investment-management experience addressing matters under the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act.
• Familiarity with FINRA, SEC, CFTC, and NFA rules applicable to investment companies.

Responsabilités

• Overseeing Board materials preparation and participating in Board and Committee meetings.
• Overseeing corporate law matters related to the Funds.
• Preparing disclosure documents, including registration statements and periodic reports.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating service provider agreements.
• Coordinating with outside counsel and independent legal counsel.
• Responding to inquiries from shareholders, financial intermediaries, and regulators.
• Maintaining awareness of industry developments and researching resolutions to issues.
• Providing advice on regulatory matters relating to the firm’s business activities.
