Job summary

Sammons Financial Group in West Des Moines, IA seeks a data governance professional for investment operations. You will oversee security master data, perform reconciliations, and partner across accounting, reporting and technology to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years in investment operations, experience with PAM for Investments (PFI), and strong analytical and Excel skills. A bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
• 5+ years' relevant work experience in investment operations or accounting preferred.
• 2+ years' experience working in PAM for Investments (PFI) preferred.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with data from multiple sources.
• Excellent attention to detail, self-initiative and team player.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis of new security master files and new purchase yields; explain and resolve with external managers.
• Oversee security master file setup and maintenance for accuracy and governance.
• Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in security master data and related schedules.
• Assist in reconciling exceptions by collaborating with accounting, reporting, technology and portfolio teams.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on accounting and reporting guidance.
• Serve as SME of primary investment data and PAM for Investments (PFI) functionality.
• Maintain knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements affecting insurance portfolios.
• Lead user acceptance testing for PFI system enhancements and data feeds.
• Document procedures and training aids for continuity and team development.
• Prepare internal reports on reconciliation status and trends.
