Job summary

MFS Investment Management is seeking a Senior Investment Data Engineer to unify and harmonize investment data across the organization, enabling better analytics, risk management and client reporting for a multi‑asset platform.

You will work with data architects, platform engineers, and investment teams to develop and maintain modern data engineering solutions, pipelines and data platforms, while growing technical expertise in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting data‑oriented applications and platforms.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with SQL and advanced SQL concepts.
• Experience developing and maintaining data models using dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Experience with data integration (ETL/ELT), data warehousing, and analytics architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud‑native databases such as Snowflake; Azure, GCP, or AWS experience.
• Knowledge of Agile SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud technologies.
• Understanding of modern data architecture concepts (data mesh, real‑time data, data virtualization).
• Experience in financial services or investment data domains is preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for cross‑team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data models in dbt within Snowflake.
• Build modular, scalable, well‑documented transformation pipelines.
• Design, develop, and support scalable data pipelines and data warehouses for reporting and analytics.
• Participate in development activities and support implementation aligned with objectives.
• Improve data quality, resiliency, controls, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot data and system issues and identify root causes.
• Partner with senior engineers and business teams to deliver data solutions.
• Support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and validation tools within the platform.
• Contribute to enhancement of data engineering capabilities across the platform.
• Provide production support during outages or incidents.
