Job summary

Pacific Life in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant I to join the Investment Accounting and Reporting team on site. You will provide timely, accurate investment accounting and reporting for fixed income assets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

You will prepare schedules and disclosures, analyze activity, support audits, and collaborate with Investment Management, Finance, Operations, and other partners to improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of investment accounting data to the general ledger for GAAP and statutory reporting.
• Prepare and support quarterly and annual investment schedules, financial statement disclosures, and related reporting.
• Analyze investment accounting activity and research reconciling differences to ensure timely resolution.
• Utilize investment accounting and reporting systems to research transactions, analyze data, and generate reports.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate supporting documentation and audit trails for accounting conclusions and reporting.
• Assist with researching investment accounting and reporting issues and applying applicable accounting guidance.
• Support internal and external audit requests related to investment accounting and reporting.
• Support Company-wide initiatives Identify opportunities to improve existing processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies.
• Collaborate with Investment Management, Finance, Operations, and other business partners to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
