Job summary

Aflac, a Fortune 500 company, seeks an experienced investment accounting professional to join the Global Investments team in a role that supports complex investment transactions and financial reporting. The role offers hybrid/remote work within the continental US and requires strong GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities include reconciling investments, REOs reporting, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with Tax, Financial Reporting, and external auditors to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Four years of professional job-related work experience in investments or related accounting/reporting.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and reconciles complex investment transactions daily.
• Participates in accounting and reporting of real estate owned (REOs) investments.
• Assists with the training and development of junior team members.
• Assists junior team members in resolving complex issues during daily processing.
• Coordinates activities with Global Investments for resolving discrepancies or issues regarding investment transactions and investments.
• Maintains effective working relationships with business partners including Accounting Policy, Tax, Financial Reporting, Global Investments and auditors.
• Assists in developing and implementing new applications and analytical models.
• Maintains a continuous improvement culture by eliminating manual processes and enhancing processes.
