Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking an Investigator V to join the Major Case Unit within the Office of Inspector General. You will lead high-level investigations into fraud, waste, and abuse across health and human services in Texas, with extensive data analysis, interviewing, and reporting responsibilities.

The role requires independent judgment, up to 25% statewide travel, and a telework option.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience in writing detailed reports.
• Experience operating personal computers and software.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex investigations of fraud, waste, and abuse in health and human services.
• Prepare comprehensive internal reports and exhibits for hearings and court cases.
• Conduct professional interviews with recipients, witnesses, providers, and staff.
• Collaborate with external agencies to discuss and coordinate investigations.
• Develop guidelines and procedures to detect and prevent fraud and abuse.
• Travel up to 25% statewide, including overnight travel when required.
