Job summary

Macon-Bibb County Government seeks a Sr. Investigator to conduct criminal investigations and supervise case development.

You will interview complainants, witnesses, victims, suspects, and informants and prepare comprehensive reports for court presentations with the prosecuting attorney. The role requires a four-year degree and at least five years in POST certified employment, plus a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree required and 5+ years POST-certified experience.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and court procedures.
• Ability to interview and handle evidence effectively.

Responsibilities

• Interview complainants, witnesses, victims, suspects, and informants in person and by phone.
• Obtain statements and develop information for investigations.
• Plan court presentations with prosecuting attorney and present evidence.
• Serve court papers and subpoenas.
• Obtain and serve warrants for search, criminal, and arrest.
• Develop intelligence resources and participate in undercover operations.
• Review investigative information; write/ file case reports and compile files.
• Assist other agencies and share information with federal, state, and local law enforcement.
• Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment; transport inmates/witnesses to court.
• Attend required training; perform related duties as assigned.
