Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Senior Investigative Structural Engineer in Atlanta, GA to lead investigations, assess existing structures, and drive restoration projects. This role blends office design with field work, interfacing with owners, architects, and contractors across the project lifecycle.

You will guide junior engineers, contribute to proposals, and support business development while delivering technically diverse, high-impact projects for a growing Southeast presence.

Qualifications

• PE licensed and 6+ years of structural engineering experience
• Experience with existing buildings, restoration, or forensic work
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and field investigations
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept through construction
• Leadership mindset with mentoring or guidance of junior staff
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations and develop repair/retrofit concepts for existing structures
• Produce calculations, drawings and technical reports
• Conduct site evaluations and condition assessments
• Support construction administration and project delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
• Engage with clients and support business development and proposals
