Job summary

University of Kansas is seeking a Senior International Advisor to serve as a DSO for the F-1 program and an ARO for the J-1 program. The role includes supervising international advisors and overseeing immigration compliance within ISS.

The position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residence and offers an opportunity to lead critical compliance initiatives for international students and scholars. Salary posted as a range for budgeting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus one year of P/DSO & A/RO experience OR Bachelor’s degree plus three years of relevant P/DSO & A/RO experience.
• Attention to detail as evidenced by application materials.
• Excellent written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
• One year experience delivering workshops and/or presentations on F-1 or J-1 immigration regulations to students and university personnel.
• Three years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and/or Excel as demonstrated by application materials.
• One year experience working with database management systems.
• One year experience in the SEVIS as a P/DSO and an A/RO.

Responsibilities

• Provides expert guidance on immigration policy and regulatory issues.
• Monitors regulatory compliance of F-1/J-1 sponsorship.
• Serves as a Tier 2 mentor for newer immigration advisors and front desk staff.
• Counsels and advises students and scholars on F-1/J-1 regulations.
• Interprets non-immigrant status regulations for university community.
• Processes data and creates immigration documents in SEVIS.
• Analyzes data and reports to SEVIS for federal compliance.
• Assists with developing and presenting workshops on F-1/J-1 regulations.
• Interacts with DOS, DHS, SSA and KS Dept. of Revenue.
