Hybrid role based at the Newton, MA headquarters, requiring in-person collaboration with the Communications team and stakeholders nationwide. Strong writing, project coordination, and digital skills are essential, with experience in newsletters, video, and intranet tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism or English.
  • 4 years of experience in internal communications with strong writing and content management.
  • Experience overseeing digital newsletters, intranets, and social media content.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of a content strategy that aligns with company goals, mission and values.
  • Create and manage Monday Memo and other internal communications vehicles.
  • Edit copy and assist in staff meetings with deck creation and on-site tech support.
  • Develop editorial calendars for Bright Horizons News, Monday Memos, Weekly Buzz and newsletters.
  • Monitor and update the internal communications calendar and track key messages.
  • Source stories, write copy, and design communications plans across the organization.
  • Contribute to video communications, including scripting and hosting when needed.

This position will translate business strategies, company goals along with our mission and values, into dynamic content within multiple Internal Communications-owned (IC-owned) vehicles that engage and inform our field and corporate employees in the U.S.This Hybrid role requires in-person work at our Newton, MA headquarters.Responsibilities:Support the development of a content strategy that supports the company’s key business strategies, goals, mission, values, and cultureCreate and manage our Monday Memo vehicles on a weekly basis. This includes partnering with a variety of stakeholders, guiding them on submission strategy, editing all copy submitted in the back-end of Bright NOW and building each targeted memo and email on the back-end of Bright NOWAssist in the enhanced quarterly Staff Meetings which includes, but is not limited to, creating the introduction deck for the start of each meeting, creating the master deck which runs throughout each staff meeting, and providing day-of tech assistance before, during, and after each meetingCreate and manage editorial calendars for Internal Communications-owned vehicles, including Bright Horizons News on Bright NOW, Monday Memo(s), The Weekly Buzz newsletter, the monthly teacher newsletter, and digital signageMonitor and update the company’s annual Internal Communications calendar, which tracks all key internal communications that get distributed dailyContribute to content creation and proofreading for internal vehicles, including crafting content and/or facilitating partners to draft content for publishing through leveraging an understanding of social media, digital and artificial intelligence (AI) best practicesDraft, review, and edit messages to ensure that they are clear, thorough, on-brand, and seek to preserve the company's imageCollect and source stories across the organization that can be developed into content including writing the copy as well as designing communications plans where appropriateContribute to and manage video communications as needed, including our video series Buzz SpotlightEvaluate and assess effectiveness of IC-owned internal channels by utilizing data reporting which is now shared on a monthly cadence with the entire team to enable more data-driven decisionsMonitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication campaigns and toolsClearly compile and report data on the success of internal communications campaigns, messaging and toolsMake recommendations on how to enhance and expand internal communications outreach and engagement. Keeps apprised of new trends and innovations in internal communications and brings new and creative insights into the organizationMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism or English4 years of experience working in internal communications with a strong focus on writing and content managementAt this time, Bright Horizons will not sponsor an applicant for employment authorization/visa for this positionPreferred Qualifications:Proven experience overseeing the production of digital newsletters, communications and social media contentExperience in using content management systems or intranets, including Firstup and Microsoft SharepointExperience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for aiding communications processesHigh level of organizational skills, including great attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work under pressure, handle changing priorities, and simultaneously handle multiple projects/prioritiesBusiness acumen and superior written and verbal communication skills; writing sample may be requiredDemonstrated examples of relationship-building across a large organizationExperience in video communications, including script writing, serving as a host, and working with a video editing team a plusMust always come from a place of positive intent and share Bright Horizons’ valuesProficient in Microsoft SuiteExperience in Adobe Creative Suite and/or CanvaBe part of a community where people grow, futures are shaped, and lives are changed.
