Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an experienced internal communications professional to develop and coordinate messaging across the organization. You will partner with department leaders, vendors, and staff to ensure timely, relevant communications that support our mission to improve kid's health.

You will manage collateral, plan campaigns, and measure impact using surveys, focus groups, and feedback, while balancing multiple projects under deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Experience in internal/employee communications and corporate communications.
  • Experience in developing collateral and graphic design.
  • Experience using surveys and feedback to measure impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop messages for multiple channels (intranet, emails, leadership meetings, presentations).
  • Collaborate with vendors to produce high-quality videos as needed.
  • May produce minor videos.
  • Serve as a resource to departments for communication campaigns.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders to identify ongoing opportunities.
  • Identify new communication opportunities and craft messages and plans.

Job Description

Contributes to employee education, retention, and engagement by developing and coordinating internal communication efforts to enhance understanding of key messages and organizational goals. Works with vendors, department directors and managers, system leaders, front line employees, and other staff to ensure that these efforts are effective, relevant, timely, and organized.

Mandatory Experience
  • Experience 3 years of experience in internal/employee communications, corporate communications, or public relations
  • Experience in managing creative design on collateral productions
  • Demonstrated experience in developing collateral and graphic design
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing surveys, verbal feedback, focus groups, and other communication measurement tools
  • Demonstrated experience working under pressure and managing multiple projects at once, specifically flexibility and adaptability to unexpected changes, and demonstrated experience in developing and meeting or exceeding deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Adobe Suite or Photoshop
Mandatory Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of communication principles, including change management and strategy
  • Demonstrated writing/editing skills and analytical/creative experience necessary to address targeted messages to a variety of audiences utilizing different channels
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including communicating with others and speaking in public, listening effectively, interviewing, and gathering information from sources at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to work with varying levels of staff and leadership
  • Requires superior project management skills
Mandated Job Responsibilities
  • Develops messages for a variety of channels, such as intranet, system publications, internal leadership meetings, system-wide emails, manager portal, management updates, speeches, talking points, system letters and memos, presentations, national recognition projects, and other communication projects.
  • Works with outside vendors to produce high-quality videos as needed.
  • May produce minor videos.
  • Serves as a resource and consultant to individual departments to assist with communication campaigns.
  • Develops and facilitates relationships with key internal contacts to identify opportunities on an ongoing basis.
  • Identifies new communication opportunities and develops appropriate messages and vehicles as well as communications plans.
  • May assist in the development of collateral material for campaigns and managing digital signage content.
  • Assists other team members as needed on projects.
