Job summary

Coinbase is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Associate to strengthen governance, risk management, and controls across global operations. You will execute risk-based audits end-to-end—from planning to remediation validation—and present findings to senior leadership with practical, actionable recommendations.

Candidates should have 5+ years in audit or risk roles within financial services, familiarity with AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection rules, and professional certification progress

Qualifications

• 5+ years in internal audit, external audit, compliance testing, or risk management within financial services, fintech, payments, brokerage, or custody.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge including AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection requirements.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent audit workstreams with regulator-ready documentation.
• Familiarity with data analytics techniques (SQL preferred) and leveraging technology to improve audit efficiency.
• Progress toward professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CFE, Series 7) or holding one.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end operational and compliance audits, from scoping to reporting and remediation validation.
• Own audit request tracking, open item management, and testing status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify control gaps via root cause analysis and draft risk-based recommendations for measurable improvement.
• Lead audit reporting with concise, actionable summaries for senior leadership and regulators.
• Validate remediation of prior findings by assessing evidence and closure sufficiency.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal while maintaining independence.
