Coinbase is seeking an Internal Audit Senior Associate to join the Finance team's Internal Audit function. You will execute risk-based operational and compliance audits across global operations, partnering with stakeholders to identify control gaps and drive practical remediation.

The role emphasizes regulator-ready documentation, strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, and maintaining independence while delivering high-quality audit outputs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in internal or external audit, compliance testing, or risk management.
• Ability to independently execute audits end-to-end with regulator-ready documentation.
• Working knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, and consumer protection requirements.
• Demonstrated proficiency managing multiple concurrent audit workstreams with deadlines.
• Familiarity with data analytics techniques (SQL preferred) and leveraging tech to improve efficiency.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow quality and speed.
• Strong understanding of internal control environments and regulatory compliance in financial services.
• Experience in a regulated financial institution is preferred.
• Progress toward professional certifications (CIA/CPA/CFE) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end audits (planning, testing, reporting) with risk-based focus.
• Own audit request tracking, open-item management, and status reporting to leadership.
• Identify control gaps through root-cause analysis and draft actionable remediation recommendations.
• Lead audit reporting with concise summaries for senior leadership and regulators.
• Validate remediation by assessing evidence and closure sufficiency.
• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Legal teams to maintain independence.
