Job summary

The State of Oregon seeks a Permanent, Full‑Time Internal Auditor 3 to provide independent audit services and management consultation across agencies. You will lead teams, manage complex audits, and deliver insights that strengthen economy, efficiency, and effectiveness while reducing risk.

Hybrid-remote work is possible with in-person duties in Salem. Minimum qualifications include 6 years of professional auditing or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of auditing experience;

Qualifications

• Six years of experience performing professional‑level auditing, investigations, compliance, policy/program, or work closely related to the agency mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field and three years of professional‑level auditing, investigations, compliance, policy/program, or related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the agency’s most complex and comprehensive audits.
• Manage assignments and audit teams, delivering independent, objective information.
• Ensure audits meet professional standards and provide actionable recommendations to strengthen operations.
