Job description

Position Overview

Compensation Range

$110,000 - $120,000 / Year

Position Overview

At The Cheesecake Factory, We Don't Do Ordinary! Nothing is scaled down. Not the pride, not the fun, and definitely not the teamwork. Here, you'll do meaningful work alongside great people who care about each other and are passionate about supporting the restaurant teams that create memorable experiences for our guests every day. That's the kind of culture that has earned us a place on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For® list every year since 2014.

As our Senior Internal Auditor

you’ll be at the center of strengthening The Cheesecake Factory’s internal control environment and supporting our SOX compliance program. Based in our Calabasas Hills Support Center and reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, you’ll execute SOX testing, collaborate with process owners, evaluate internal controls, and help keep critical compliance activities moving forward.

Your impact will extend beyond SOX. You’ll participate in operational audits and advisory projects, conduct risk and control assessments, and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and controls across Corporate, Fox Restaurant Concepts, and Bakery operations. You’ll also partner with teams across the business, building strong relationships that help facilitate audit activities and drive successful outcomes.

You’ll Thrive In This Position If You’re
  • A Skilled Project Manager: You’re highly organized and know how to keep multiple priorities moving. You’ll coordinate with process owners across the organization and help drive SOX testing and compliance activities to timely completion without sacrificing attention to detail or quality.
  • A Critical Thinker: You know how to dig into the details, evaluate risk, analyze complex information, and use sound judgment to uncover control gaps, process improvement opportunities, and practical solutions.
  • A Strong Communicator and Relationship Builder: You communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Just as importantly, you know how to build strong partnerships that make it easier to share information, resolve issues, and move audit and SOX activities forward.
  • Adaptable and Eager to Learn: SOX may be a major focus, but you’re excited to broaden your experience. You’ll have opportunities to contribute to operational audits and advisory projects that give you exposure to different areas of the business.
Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Internal Audit, to support the annual SOX compliance program, including walkthroughs and control testing to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Assist with managing, tracking, and facilitating the timely remediation of identified control deficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with external auditors, including coordinating walkthroughs, aligning on testing timelines, and providing auditors with direct support in key areas.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of operational audits and advisory projects as audit priorities permit, providing opportunities to gain broader exposure to the company’s operations and risks.
  • Assist the Internal Audit Manager in maintaining Optro (AuditBoard), the SOX automation tool, including updating controls, PBCs, and narratives and issuing quarterly SOX self-certifications.
What We Require
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA, CIA or actively pursuing one of these professional certifications.
  • 2+ years of public accounting or 3+ years of internal audit experience
  • 2+ years of SOX compliance experience.
  • Experience testing internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and supporting SOX compliance activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.
What We Prefer
  • Public audit experience at a Big 4 or large or medium-size regional firm
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance programs for a public company
  • Experience using Optro (AuditBoard) or similar SOX/audit management software
What We Offer

  • Eligible for benefits first day of the month following date of hire
  • 401K with company match
  • 3 weeks of vacation which increases to 4 weeks starting in your 5th year
  • 5 days of sick time per year (first year prorated)
  • Tuition Reimbursement of $2,500 for qualified programs
