Embecta Corp. in Parsippany, NJ is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to strengthen internal controls, support SOX/ICFR compliance, and drive risk-based audits across global operations. You will lead audit workstreams, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure timely, high-quality reporting.

The role requires a CPA/CIA/CFE or in progress, 3+ years of audit experience, familiarity with IT general controls, and comfort with travel up to 25%. Power BI and SAP experience are a plus.

At embecta, you are empowered to take ownership, bring your authentic self to work, and accelerate your career alongside inspiring leaders.As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for evaluating the adequacy of the Company's system of internal controls to ensure the protection of assets from loss, reliability and integrity of financial information and compliance with policies, plans, procedures and applicable laws and regulations.This is a hybrid role and will sit in our Parsippany, NJ office 3 days a week.What You'll Be Doing:Conduct audits consistent with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and department policies; support audits within the expected timeframe including all aspects of planning, fieldwork and wrap-up activities and reporting to audit and senior management.Independently lead assigned audit workstreams, manage timelines, coordinate stakeholder requests, and escalate issues with limited supervision.Conduct process walkthroughs, identify key risks and controls, and develop risk-based audit procedures and sampling approaches. Adapt audit program and procedures as observations/new information is uncovered in the field.Support the company’s SOX Compliance program globally including the evaluation of the adequacy of the Company's system of internal controls, testing of SOX controls and evaluation of completeness and accuracy of financial information in compliance with policies.Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors to ensure audit work can be leveraged to support an efficient annual external audit and ICFR assessment.Review controls regularly to ensure adequate design. Provide guidance, identify improvements to control design and follow up on management action plans to validate that corrective actions are implemented and effective before issue closureAssess financial statement exposures, operational/process issues, internal control deficiencies and opportunities for improvement.Support fieldwork activities for IT auditsDocument audit findings into audit report format and document management action plans in collaboration with management as audit fieldwork progresses.Finalize audit fieldwork and support audit report issuance consistent with report writing guidelines.Other projects as neededWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications:B.S. in Finance or Accounting or equivalent required.Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or working towards a certification is required.3+ years audit experience with a mix of public accounting and/or Internal Audit in a global company.Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, including internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) and the evaluation of control design and operating effectiveness.Strong communication, planning, administrative, technical, and process management skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships and coordination with global stakeholders.Ability to travel 25% international and domestic. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with IT audits including IT general controls is a plusUnderstanding data analysis and AI tools is a plus (Power BI, Microsoft Copilot, etc.).Experience with business applications such as SAP S/4, Ariba, Concur, and SAP Group Reporting.Industry exposure to manufacturing, medical devices, or pharmaceutical companies.Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $100,000-110,000.Posted salary ranges are provided in good faith. embecta reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate’s experience, qualifications, external market conditions, and internal equity considerations.Base pay is one component of the Total Rewards package at embecta, which also includes eligibility for an annual bonus.
