Job summary

H MART Headquarters in Lyndhurst, NJ seeks an experienced Interior Designer/Architect with 4–7 years of interior design experience to lead creative design for commercial and retail spaces. Responsibilities include developing comprehensive design solutions, preparing full interior drawing packages, and coordinating with architects, consultants, and GC teams.

Strong AutoCAD and 3D software skills are essential, with US travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in interior design, architecture, commercial space design, or retail design.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD and industry-standard 3D design software.
• Proven ability to independently prepare and rigorously review complete interior drawing packages and precise detail drawings.
• Ability to travel within the United States as project needs dictate.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Korean is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead review and development of comprehensive, innovative design solutions for H Mart's commercial and retail projects.
• Prepare, review, and manage full interior design packages with cohesive finishes, furniture, lighting, and signage.
• Oversee exterior designs and signage for a unified brand presence.
• Manage detailed construction drawing sets and coordinate A/MEP requirements.
• Identify design/structural issues and adjust drawings based on site conditions and feedback.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, consultants, architects, and GC partners.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, site visits, and coordination across locations.
• Mentor junior designers and provide clear feedback on complex design problems.
