Job summary

Qualifications

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Interior Designer will lead the interior design process across projects, from initial concept through documentation and implementation. This role requires a strong design perspective, technical expertise, project leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal team members.

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful and confident designer who can independently manage their responsibilities while collaborating closely with the broader EHD team. They should be equally comfortable developing a design concept, presenting to a client, coordinating with an architect or contractor, and ensuring the details are carried through documentation and execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the interior design process from concept development through construction and installation.
• Develop and communicate cohesive design concepts that respond to the project's architecture, client goals, lifestyle, and overall vision.
• Establish and maintain material palettes, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and other interior selections.
• Develop space plans, furniture plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and other interior design documentation.
• Produce and oversee detailed drawings, specifications, schedules, presentations, and other project deliverables.
• Develop presentations, renderings, mood boards, and other visual materials to effectively communicate design intent.
• Coordinate interior design work with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project partners.
• Participate in client meetings and confidently present design concepts, selections, and recommendations.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while maintaining a high level of design quality and attention to detail.
• Review drawings, samples, submittals, and other project documentation for design intent and accuracy.
• Conduct site visits and assist with construction and installation coordination as needed.
• Identify potential design or project issues and proactively develop solutions.
• Communicate project updates, decisions, and action items clearly with clients and internal teams.
• Collaborate with and provide guidance to junior designers and other team members.
• Help establish and maintain consistent design standards and processes across projects.
• Stay current with materials, products, design resources, and evolving industry practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably within a high-end residential, commercial, architecture, or multidisciplinary design firm.
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and SketchUp is required.
• Strong understanding of interior architecture, space planning, materials, furnishings, detailing, and construction documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop a project from initial concept through documentation and implementation.
• Strong design sensibility and a highly developed eye for proportion, scale, materiality, and detail.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence presenting design concepts and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, designers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
