Job summary

Ray is seeking a Senior Designer to support our in‑house design team from concept through completion. Reporting to the Design Director, this role offers hands‑on experience in design and project management within a dynamic, design‑forward residential brand.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years of post‑degree experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite, and a track record across SD to CA phases for interior architecture projects.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of post‑degree experience in interior design or architecture.
• Experience across Concept, SD, DD, CD, and CA phases for interior projects.
• Experience managing FF&E and specifications.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/shop drawings and specs.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design projects through Concept to Construction Administration and FF&E.
• Collaborate with Creative Director and Design Director to realize brand vision.
• Lead 3D model concepts and render in modeling software.
• Manage design deliverables for multiple large-scale projects concurrently with minimal supervision.
• Review detailed design drawing sets, shop drawings, schedules for submission.
• Build relationships with partners, vendors, and consultants; represent the company externally.
• Coordinate design between owners, architects, and contractors; ensure clear communication.
• Drive key departmental initiatives as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design projects through every phase: Concept through Construction Administration, and final FF&E Installation.
• Work closely with the Creative Director and Design Director to translate the brand vision into cohesive, executable design.
• Lead 3d model design concepts and render in 3d modeling software.
• Spearhead and manage design deliverables for multiple large (300-500 units) and complex‑sized projects concurrently through all project phases with minimal supervision.
• Manage and review detailed design drawing sets and shop drawings (built‑in furniture, lighting, joinery, furniture layouts) & schedules for submission and review.
• Manage and review project design and design packages (including drawing sets) ensuring efficiency, adherence to schedule, and alignment with brand and partner expectations.
• Establish strong relationships with strategic partners, vendors, and consultants and represent the company in all key external communications.
• Serve as a point of contact for design between owners, architects, and contractors (consultants), ensuring excellent communication.
• Manage key departmental initiatives as required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• 6-10 years of relevant post‑degree experience at an architecture or interior design office.
• Experience with Concept, Schematic Design (SD), Design Development (DD), Construction Documents (CD), and Construction Administration (CA) phases for interior architecture projects.
• Experience managing and sourcing FF&E and specifications.
• The ability to read and interpret architectural/shop drawings, renderings, and construction specifications.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• An ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Interior and FF&E vendors.
• A general awareness of cultural conversations around design, architecture, art, and real estate.

Software

• Required: AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator), Google Suite, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite.
• A plus: Revit and other 3D modeling software.

Location

This is a hybrid role based in our NYC office, with an average of 2‑3 days in‑office per week, scheduled based on project and team needs.

Compensation

• 125-145K annually dependent on experience
