Job summary

Planning Recruitment Limited is seeking a Senior Interior Designer for a Brooklyn architecture practice to lead interiors of high end residential projects. You’ll work with a small team from concept through final install.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in interior design, a degree in interior design or architecture, and expert AutoCAD/Photoshop skills, with strong knowledge of millwork and NYC renovation, DOB and Landmarks processes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in interior design within an architecture practice or high end residential studio.
• Degree in interior design, architecture or related field.
• High end residential experience, townhouse or brownstone renovations.
• Expert AutoCAD and Photoshop proficiency.
• Deep knowledge of millwork, materials and detailing, especially in older buildings.
• Familiarity with NYC renovation, DOB and Landmarks processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead interior design on high end residential projects, focusing on townhouse and brownstone renovations.
• Take projects through schematic design to construction documents and CA.
• Produce and coordinate detailed drawing sets in AutoCAD including plans, RCPs, elevations, millwork and finish details.
• Select and specify materials, finishes, fixtures, lighting and FF&E for presentations to clients.
• Collaborate with project architects, contractors and fabricators to protect design intent on site.
• Guide and support junior team members.

A highly regarded Brooklyn architecture practice is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to lead the interiors of high end residential projects.

You’ll be part of a small, close knit team where architecture and interiors sit side by side, taking homes from the very first client conversation through to the final install.

What you'll do:

• Lead interior design on high end residential projects, with a strong focus on townhouse and brownstone renovations
• Take projects through every phase from schematic design and design development to construction documents and CA
• Produce and coordinate detailed drawing sets in AutoCAD including plans, RCPs, elevations, millwork and finish details
• Select and specify materials, finishes, fixtures, lighting and FF&E, and present confidently to clients
• Work closely with the project architects, contractors and fabricators to protect design intent on site
• Guide and support junior members of the team

What you'll bring:

• 10+ years in interior design ideally within an architecture practice or high end residential studio
• A degree in interior design, architecture or a related field
• High end residential experience, ideally townhouse, brownstone or prewar renovations
• Expert AutoCAD and Photoshop proficiency
• A deep knowledge of millwork, materials and detailing, especially in older buildings
• Familiarity with NYC renovation, DOB and Landmarks processes is a real plus
