Qualifications

• Typically a Certified Interior Designer or a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years interior design experience in progressively responsible positions.
• Familiarization with state/city building codes related to systems furniture and layouts.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Excel, CAP program, and related design tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide interior design and documentation including floor plans, elevations, finishes, and room layouts.
• Ensure LMU space standards and code compliance; make space allocation recommendations.
• Plan and prepare presentations for clients.
• Draft CAD plans and as-built documentation; assist with CAFM tasks.
• Interface with Project Managers on Capital projects.
• Produce drawings within project time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Solicit estimates from outside vendors and present for review.
• Obtain funding approvals prior to project implementation.
• Process furniture requisitions with Procurement.
• Track requests and provide weekly/bi-weekly status updates.
• Coordinate delivery with vendors and in-house relocation services.
• Collaborate within Planning & Design, Construction, or capital project teams.
• Oversee the Junior Designer and provide weekly updates to Senior Director.
• Assist with archiving project plans.
• Maintain a design library for materials, finishes, furniture, and floor plans.
• Stay updated on new products relevant to LMU projects.
• Maintain confidentiality of project information.
• Represent LMU at professional organizations and committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
