Job summary

Brilliant Staffing, LLC is seeking an Interim Controller for a high-visibility acquisition integration in the Midwest/SE U.S. labor market. Lead accounting and financial integration of a $115M business, stabilize close processes, and deliver strong financial reporting.

The role requires hands-on leadership in a highly manual environment, with responsibilities spanning GL, payroll, AR/AP, and internal controls. Local onsite work arrangement and quick impact expected.

Qualifications

• Senior-level accounting leadership with acquisition integration experience.
• Experience managing financial operations for a $100M+ revenue business.
• Strong POC (percentage of completion) accounting experience.
• Direct construction/project accounting experience (HVAC, mechanical contracting, etc.).
• CPA is preferred; bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the accounting function and stabilize financial reporting and close.
• Lead accounting integration activities for a $115M acquisition.
• Identify gaps in processes and establish priorities for cleanup and integration.
• Improve the delayed month-end close toward a timely, accurate close.
• Perform hands-on cleanup: reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and documentation.
• Oversee project accounting, variances, and billing in a construction environment.
• Support audit preparation and year-end reporting; strengthen controls.
