Job summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is seeking an expert engineer to serve as a technical advisor on operation and maintenance of multipurpose facilities, hydropower generating facilities, and navigation assets.

Responsibilities include long-range planning, policy recommendations, and oversight of hydro, flood risk management, recreation, and environmental stewardship programs, with emphasis on safe, reliable project operations.

Qualifications

  • Specialized experience in operations and maintenance of major water storage facilities or navigational projects.
  • Ability to plan and develop program goals and execute Federal navigation/hydropower operations.
  • Knowledge of emergency management, regulatory compliance, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as expert advisor on operation and maintenance of hydro facilities and navigation assets.
  • Provide planning and policy recommendations to PSDDA and related disposal and cleanup programs.
  • Oversee technical staff across hydro, flood risk, recreation, and environmental stewardship.
  • Plan long-range equipment additions and scheduling for navigation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and agency directives.
  • Participate in asset management and capital improvement execution.
  • Direct and coordinate engineering work for hydroelectric power plants, reservoirs, and dams.
