Job Title: Senior Integration & Test Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA (100% Onsite)

Work Model: 5 Days/Week Onsite

Role Split: 70% Hands-On Integration & Lab Testing | 30% Lab Coordination & Mentorship

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Integration & Test Engineer to lead hands-on integration, functional testing, troubleshooting, and system-level qualification for advanced embedded computing assemblies. In this role, you will execute Level 4 integrated testing by installing complete software and hardware platforms onto chassis systems supporting defense applications.

This position balances 70% direct hands-on testing and failure analysis with 30% technical lab leadership, including mentoring junior personnel, coordinating daily test schedules, and managing lab workflow. Deep expertise in defense architectures such as VPX is not required. We are seeking a strong hardware/software troubleshooting professional who can be trained on complex backplane architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On System Integration & Testing (70%)

• Integrate, configure, troubleshoot, and functionally test embedded computer systems, chassis assemblies, cabinet-level systems, and board-level products.

• Install, configure, verify, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows and Linux), firmware, drivers, networking, and diagnostic software.

• Conduct root cause failure analysis across prototype, production, and field-returned assemblies.

• Develop or refine scripts, automation tools, regression test suites, and data capture utilities using Python, PowerShell, or Linux Bash to improve lab efficiency and repeatability.

Technical Leadership & Lab Coordination (30%)

• Lead daily lab execution, coordinate testing priorities, support lab scheduling, and drive technical issues to resolution.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to test technicians and junior engineers.

• Communicate test status, risks, and project updates with Systems Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field preferred.

• Experience: 8-12 years of experience in embedded hardware/software integration and testing. Candidates with 6+ years of strong, relevant experience will also be considered.

• Hardware & Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics (oscilloscopes, multimeters, backplanes, chassis systems) and software/system validation (OS installation, networking, drivers).

• Scripting: Proficiency with Python, PowerShell, or Linux Bash scripting. LabVIEW experience is not required.

• Diagnostic Tools: Familiarity with tools such as iPerf, CrystalDisk, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers.

• Soft Skills: Strong technical writing, organization, problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities.
