Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Texas Institute for Electronics seeks an Integration Engineer or Senior Integration Engineer to advance heterogeneous integration research at the Pickle Research Campus in Austin, TX. The role emphasizes toolset installation, process development, and collaboration with unit process engineers.

Candidates will work hands-on in the cleanroom, define process windows, troubleshoot failures, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in semiconductor engineering fields such as Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or other relevant disciplines.
• Master's or Doctoral degree in semiconductor engineering for Senior role; 3 years of experience for Senior.
• Experience with 3D ICs and BEOL processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Drive unit process engineers and tool/vendors toward defined targets for integrated test vehicles.
• Develop shortloop and full integrated processes for heterogeneous integration prototypes.
• Hands-on cleanroom work with shared ownership of critical unit processes.
• Define process windows and troubleshoot excursions.
• Design and evaluate experiments on test vehicles for mechanical/electrical performance and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate effectively.
