Job summary

Socket.dev seeks an experienced integration architect to lead end-to-end solutions across Big Data platforms, data-driven web apps, and enterprise API management. You will partner with architects, developers, and platform teams to design reliable, scalable integrations linking IoT sources, analytics platforms, and front-end experiences.

The role emphasizes integration design, API governance, event-driven systems, and security/observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in integration development/architecture with hands-on depth.
• Experience with REST APIs and web services.
• Kafka/Flink or similar messaging platforms.
• Experience with API gateways/management (Apigee preferred).
• Microservices development (Java/Spring Boot, Go, Python, or Node.js).
• Strong understanding of integration patterns (sync/async, retries, DLQs).
• Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and IaC/CI/CD tooling.
• Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and documentation skills.
• Exposure to GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets; observability stacks.
• API security/identity and policy enforcement; aware of DDD and data mesh.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement integration solutions across IoT, analytics, and web platforms.
• Apply patterns to ensure resilient, scalable integrations and APIs.
• Build reusable integration modules and connectors (Kafka, gRPC, GraphQL, API gateways).
• Architect backend layers powering data-driven web interfaces with governed data flow.
• Design streaming and batch pipelines; optimize event contracts with product/data teams.
• Support and scale Apigee adoption; configure proxies, security, monitoring.
• Promote event-driven architecture and integrate with microservices.
• Develop producers/consumers and stream apps using Kafka; manage schemas.
• Embed security by design; implement observability and CI/CD enhancements.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting; mentor teams.
