Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled security systems installer to configure and commission complex access control, CCTV, and intercom systems at client sites across the United States. The role involves wiring, mounting, testing, and documentation to ensure reliable operation.

You will interpret blueprints, troubleshoot field issues, and train end users on system operation. Preferred candidates have 5+ years in commercial security, familiarity with IP networking, and certifications such as

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience with Commercial Fire Alarm Systems, Commercial Digital & Analog Camera Systems and/or Commercial Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of Alarm Systems function and design.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Proficient with TCP/IP networking; able to operate a company vehicle.
• Willingness to participate in after-hour on-call rotation.
• Proficiency with ADT AI core card access and CCTV systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA and NEC codes.

Responsibilities

• Install complex integrated security systems including wiring, equipment, and programming for access control, CCTV, digital recorders, and intercoms.
• Install cabling and equipment enclosures per NEC and guidelines; troubleshoot with testing equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Test, adjust, repair, and test operation of systems; complete wiring and terminations.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work with attention to detail; document completed work.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; work unsupervised when needed.
• Conduct end-user training and perform site handover.
• Possess strong basic office software skills for reports and documentation.
