Job summary

SDV Fenchurch seeks an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience in insurance coverage or complex litigation matters. You will oversee matters with direct client contact, working alongside senior attorneys on sophisticated disputes and advisory work.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission in at least one US jurisdiction; preference for CA, FL, CT, MA, NY, NJ.
• 8+ years of experience in insurance coverage, commercial or complex litigation.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical and advocacy skills.
• Appellate briefing experience a plus; construction-related experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex insurance coverage issues and draft pleadings, motions, briefs.
• Conduct and defend depositions; handle written discovery and motion practice.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Develop litigation strategies with clients and senior attorneys; mentor junior attorneys.

Position overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate with at least three years of experience in insurance coverage, commercial litigation, or other complex litigation matters.

This role offers meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and substantial ownership of matters. You will work closely with experienced coverage attorneys on sophisticated disputes while developing litigation and strategic advisory skills.

Key responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex insurance coverage issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and coverage-related advocacy materials.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Handle written discovery and motion practice.

• 8+ years of experience in insurance coverage, commercial litigation, construction litigation, or similarly complex matters.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with pleadings, depositions, discovery, and motion practice.
• Appellate briefing experience is a plus.
• Construction defect, risk transfer, or construction insurance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation:

• $200,000+ plus bonus opportunities. Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and business generation potential. Originations are credited at all attorney levels.
