Job summary

Aprio Talent Solutions is recruiting for a full-time, on-site accounting role with a venture-backed captive insurance company. You’ll own month-end close, statutory reporting, and NAIC filings across multiple entities, partnering with client finance teams and internal tech partners.

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years in accounting or audit, insurance experience, and a passion for automating processes. Equity participation is available in this high-growth setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3–7 years of accounting or audit experience.
• Insurance accounting or insurance audit experience.
• Knowledge of statutory accounting (STAT/SAP) and NAIC reporting.
• Experience with month-end and quarter-end close.
• Strong communication with client finance teams.
• Interest in automating manual processes.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end and quarter-end close across a portfolio of insurance entities.
• Prepare statutory financial statements under Statutory Accounting Principles.
• Prepare NAIC and state insurance regulatory filings.
• Handle claims accounting activity.
• Reconcile accounts and maintain audit-ready supporting workpapers.
• Act as a day-to-day accounting contact for client finance teams.
• Support the external audit and respond to auditor requests.
• Identify slow or manual processes and raise improvements.
• Collaborate with technology and product teams to automate recurring workflows.
