Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead instrumentation and control aspects of energy and process projects.

You will size valves and flowmeters, review 3D models, develop DCS/ESD/FGS philosophies, prepare instrument datasheets, and coordinate with vendors for long-lead items. Proficiency with Navis, AutoCAD and valve software is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Control Systems, or Process Engineering.
• At least 8 years of progressive instrumentation and controls experience.
• Experience applying ANSI, IEEE, IEC and NEC standards.
• Experience with total installed cost (TIC) estimates and energy industry instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Size valves and flowmeters and perform UPS/PLC power load calculations.
• Review 3D models and bid evaluate mechanical packages for control systems.
• Identify critical instruments from P&IDs and develop cause‑and‑effect studies.
• Prepare control system philosophies for DCS/ESD/FGS and third-party PLCs.
• Create instrument datasheets and backbones; coordinate with vendors for long-lead items.
• Develop fiber optic backbone and network diagrams; document cable schedules.
• Utilize Instrucalc, valve specs, Navis 3D, AutoCAD; support HAZOP/LOPA studies.
• Assist in constructability reviews and cost estimation.
