Job description

Purpose

You will provide instrumentation and controls engineering services to Worley and its customers.

Responsibilities

• The ability to work independently to complete demanding assignments through advanced design theories, techniques, and practices on several small and medium size projects.
• Ability to work within a team environment with minimum supervision and to customer, company and industry standards.
• Perform moderately to difficult drafting assignments requiring knowledge of established drafting techniques, standards, practices, and software; understands and applies company procedures pertaining to instrumentation and controls discipline.
• Oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans or other design/specification data.
• Direct the work of junior designers and ensure drawings comply with client requirements and relevant project specifications.
• Participate in design reviews with various clients and advise on technical design, drafting issues, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of completing work scope within time and budget constraints.
• Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities, equipment, etc. from reference drawings or catalogs.
• Perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
• Travel to job sites to perform site walkdowns to document installed conditions.
• Coordinate all instrumentation and controls drawings.
• Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project.

What you will bring

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design.
• Experience with Smartplant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and MicroStation design software packages; AVEVA E3D is a plus.
• Experience with Smart Plant 3D and participation in 3D model reviews.
• Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of instrumentation and controls.
• Proficiency in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

Required

• A Degree or Diploma in instrumentation design and drafting with discipline-specific training.

Preferred

• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in electrical design and drafting.
