Job summary

AFRY USA seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to lead I&C deliverables on multi-disciplinary projects within the process industries. You will specify instrumentation, design control systems, and prepare detailed drawings and construction packages while supporting field data collection and startup.

The role requires a PE registration (or in process), 10+ years of process instrumentation experience, and travel when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineering registration (or in process) is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience with process instrumentation in the Pulp and Paper industry preferred.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.
• Legal right to live and work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Discipline Lead on multi-discipline projects responsible for I&C deliverables and estimating effort.
• Participate in studies and prepare cost estimates for instrumentation and control systems.
• Provide input into P&ID and specify control system components for DCS/PLC.
• Develop loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and instrument indices.
• Coordinate with piping design for proper installation of valves and instrumentation.
• Visit customer sites for field data collection and provide field support during construction and start-up.
