Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Power Generation Team in Oradell, NJ or other listed locations. You will develop instrumentation and control design documents, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and support project start-up and field commissioning across diverse power projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 3+ years of I&C experience in power generation, strong coordination skills, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• 3+ years of Power Generation Instrumentation and Controls experience.
• Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Development of instrumentation and control design documents for power generation projects.
• Coordination with colleagues in other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Coordination with clients, equipment vendors, and contractors on projects.
• Provision of instrumentation and control engineering support to clients in the form of developing criteria and specifications for their new power projects, reviewing documents generated by sub-contractors and equipment vendors, monitoring construction progress and responding to questions from construction contractors.
• Field commissioning support on project start-up efforts.
