Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Manassas, VA seeks an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a 12-month onsite contract to design, develop, and implement advanced control systems for high-tech manufacturing facilities. You’ll lead instrumentation, automation, and safety projects, developing P&IDs and control narratives while ensuring code compliance and collaboration with diverse teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (ABET-accredited).
EIT certification or ability to obtain licensure.
6+ years in industrial control systems engineering and design.
Experience with PLC-based systems (Allen-Bradley, Schneider/Modicon, Siemens).

Responsibilities

Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules for process-specific work.
Design facility control systems, fire alarm systems, chemical controls, TGM, and SCADA.
Create P&IDs, loop drawings, wiring diagrams.
Size and select instruments, control devices, and valves; prepare data sheets.
Review vendor submittals for codes and client requirements.
Create Sequence of Operation (SOO) documents.
Present technical and business information to clients and teams.
