Job summary

Intellectt Inc is seeking a PCIS Engineer to design, develop, and startup instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for industrial process plants. You will work from engineering design through commissioning, collaborating with customers, offshore teams, vendors, and construction personnel.

You will prepare instrument datasheets, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, specify instrumentation, and support PLC/SCADA implementations while ensuring NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70E compliance and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Instrumentation, Electrical or Controls Engineering.
• Experience developing instrumentation and controls packages for industrial plants.
• Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA, MCCs and VFDs.

Responsibilities

• Develop instrumentation and control engineering design packages for industrial process plants.
• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Lists, I/O Lists, Wiring Diagrams and related engineering documentation.
• Specify and select process instrumentation, control valves, transmitters and monitoring devices.
• Design and support LV electrical distribution systems, MCCs, VFDs and control panels.
• Support PLC, SCADA and industrial automation system implementation and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate project activities with customers, vendors, construction teams and offshore resources.
• Lead design reviews and obtain customer approvals for deliverables.
• Provide field support during installation, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting activities.
• Lead electrical startup activities for process and packaging equipment.

Job description

The PCIS Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and startup of instrumentation, control, and electrical systems for industrial process plants. This role supports project execution from engineering design through commissioning and startup while collaborating with customers, offshore engineering teams, vendors, and construction personnel. The engineer will develop engineering packages, specify instrumentation, support PLC/SCADA systems, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop instrumentation and control engineering design packages for industrial process plants.
• Prepare Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Lists, I/O Lists, Wiring Diagrams, and related engineering documentation.
• Specify and select process instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, flowmeters, and monitoring devices.
• Design and support LV electrical distribution systems, MCCs, VFDs, and control panels.
• Support PLC, SCADA, and industrial automation system implementation and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate project activities with customers, vendors, construction teams, and offshore engineering resources.
• Participate in design reviews and obtain customer approvals for engineering deliverables.
• Provide field support during installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
• Lead electrical startup activities for process and packaging equipment.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL508A, NFPA 70E, and machine safety requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline.
• Experience developing instrumentation and controls engineering packages for industrial process plants.
• Strong knowledge of process instrumentation, PLCs, SCADA systems, MCCs, and VFDs.
• Experience with instrument specification, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system drawings.
• Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 70E requirements.
• Strong project coordination and customer-facing communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Fisher Valves, Micro Motion Flowmeters, Rosemount Transmitters, and Endress+Hauser instrumentation.
• Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley system experience.
• Experience supporting system commissioning, validation, and startup activities.Knowledge of machine safety systems and CAT 3 wiring.
• Experience working with offshore engineering teams and industrial construction projects.
