Job summary

Quantum-Si is seeking an experienced instrument control software engineer to join our instrument software team. You will design, develop, and maintain software across the full stack for advanced life science instruments.

Responsibilities include data acquisition, motion control, signal processing, and automated workflows. You will collaborate across teams to implement new functionality and refine architecture for performance and scalability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on C#.
  • Experience with .NET 6+ for cross‑platform applications.
  • Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu preferred).
  • Proficiency with Git and Agile/Scrum practices.
  • Experience with automated testing (unit/integration) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming and real-time data acquisition.
  • Experience with RPC frameworks (gRPC) for inter-process/service communication.
  • Track record of improving software architecture and managing technical debt.
  • Strong documentation skills for maintainability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for the instrument with high performance and reliability.
  • Develop and integrate data acquisition, motion control, signal processing, and automated workflows.
  • Collaborate with systems integration and engineering teams to implement new functionality.
  • Refactor architecture to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt.
  • Document designs, code, and processes for clarity.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues and provide timely resolutions.
