Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer in Fort Mill, SC to lead design projects across ILT, virtual ILT, and eLearning. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and the Talent Development & Education team to build effective training materials.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in instructional design or related field, 3–5 years’ experience, and proficiency with Storyline/Rise, Adobe tools, and Vyond. Excellent communication and multitasking are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field with 3–5 years corporate experience.
• Experience with adult learning principles and rapid design methodologies (ADDIE/SAM).
• Skilled in designing learning across ILT, virtual ILT, eLearning, and job aids.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and multi-project management abilities.
• Excellent editing skills and grammar proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Applies instructional design principles to assess learning needs and determine deliverables.
• Gathers learner information and existing knowledge to tailor content.
• Assesses staff learning needs aligned with organizational strategy and gaps.
• Collaborates with subject matter experts to validate content accuracy.
• Produces detailed design documents and training materials for multiple modalities.
• Manages work plans and uses iterative design approaches when needed.
• Improves learning paths and curricula with the Curriculum & Talent Development team.
• Maintains relationships with business leaders and SME partners with status updates.
• Ensures accuracy of both hard copy and electronic materials.
• Works on multiple projects concurrently and supports annual content maintenance.
