Itron, Inc. is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to develop product-focused technical training for internal employees and external customers in electricity, water, and gas utilities. The role emphasizes eLearning, video production, and accessible content using AI-powered tools.

You will translate complex product knowledge into engaging learning experiences, partner with subject matter experts, and help advance AI-driven training solutions while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field; advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience as an instructional designer.
2+ years of eLearning development experience with portfolio required.
Proficiency with Articulate 360 or other screen-casting/authoring tools.
Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design learning experiences and products grounded in adult learning principles and established instructional design methodologies.
Develop custom eLearning content using Articulate 360 and Adobe Captivate.
Interpret storyboards and produce instructionally sound, visually appealing content.
Create and update technical and product training materials for utility industries.
Design and develop video training from scripts and graphics assets.
Ensure all content meets accessibility standards (WCAG / Section 508).
Create and maintain eLearning templates, style guides, and publishing standards.
