Job summary

National Vision seeks a Senior Instructional Design Specialist to develop and evaluate training for field management and associates, aligning with company philosophy and guidelines.

You will lead the end-to-end design process, support LMS, coach a design team, and partner with stakeholders to optimize learning, video production, and measurement across divisions.

Qualifications

• Four year college degree or equivalent experience.
• Required: knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and ROI concepts.
• Familiarity with HTML and multimedia production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end instructional design for all divisions across multiple delivery formats (print, video, eLearning, live).
• Coach and develop the learning design team in design and delivery of learning solutions.
• Maintain ongoing communication with People Development and Operations leaders on status and issues affecting training and store performance.
• Analyze, evaluate, and measure training effectiveness to improve learning, reduce costs, and boost efficiency.
• Serve as liaison between Retail Support Center and field to champion corporate initiatives.
• Leverage pilots and prototypes to test new approaches and improve processes.
• Video/tech: plan, record, and edit training content; manage equipment and production discussions.
• 4–6 years of related experience required.

Job description

The Senior Instructional Design Specialist assists the Company in developing and evaluating training programs designed for field management and associates and corporate associates and leadership as needed. This position partners with Field Operations to determine training needs, design new programs, and update existing training programs to successfully fulfill training requirements, in accordance with National Vision philosophy, strategic focus, and established guidelines.

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

• Design Processes-Leads the end-to-end Instructional design process to create training deliverables for all National Vision divisions for a variety of learning styles and delivery methods, to include but not be limited to print, video, computer-based platforms, and live broadcast. Supports LMS and curriculum development tools to manage the curriculum content and participation.
• Coach and Develop - Responsible for training, coaching, and mentoring the learning design team in the design and delivery of learning solutions.
• Communication - Maintains ongoing communication with all People Development leaders and team, Operations and People Team leaders concerning status updates, ideas and issues affecting training and store performance through the designated project management team. Consults with stakeholders to achieve the most efficient delivery methods for learning, video production projects, and any additional instructional design deliverables. Participate in regular forms of communication including meetings (off-site/on-site/virtual) to ensure clear effective communication among stakeholder/client groups.
• Measurement-Analyze, evaluate, and measure training effectiveness and monitor for ways to improve learning, reduce costs, and improve efficiencies. Conducts analysis, planning, testing, implementation, and evaluation of solutions.
• Acts as a positive and effective liaison between the Retail Support Center (RSC) and the field in championing corporate initiatives.
• Follow industry standards and benchmarks for new, creative approaches and mediums. Utilize pilots and prototypes to test and improve processes and programs. Push creative standards to engage adult learners for sustainable learning.
• Video/Technology-manages sourcing and maintenance of equipment necessary for the development of high-quality eLearning content. Directs planning, recording, and editing video footage for training and communications. Participates in discussions with stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Communications) to determine the effectiveness of training videos.
• 4-6 years Related experience (Required)

Education

• Four year college degree or equivalent experience. Resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job. (Required)

Licenses, Certifications, Professional Affiliations

• Professional certifications in instructional design or related discipline (preferred)
